Colors, obtained thanks to a scientific phenomena, change as a function of the position of the spectator. Natural color of the mineral appears from a side view. Pattern represents how atoms are arranged in an aluminium alloy quasicrystal, which discovery awarded the 2011 Chemistry Nobel prize.
Project developed with Sylvain Ravy, solid state physicist, director of research at CNRS, with the support of Diagonale Paris-Saclay, Région Grand Est, and Denis Gratias, member of the Academy of Sciences.
